My Assignments
- So, this is our first assignment for USRAH BUDI 2, we were asked to tadabbur some verses from the Al-Qur'an. Here is what I wrote for this task:
Prayer [Surah Al-Ankabut: 45]
What I understand from this ayat is that Allah stated in the Al-Qur’an that it is compulsory for us to pray 5 times daily because those prayers can avoid us from doing the things that aren’t good for us which is what Allah SWT has forbid us from doing. It is because when we pray, we will always remember Allah SWT and that will make us aware of the punishments if we keep doing the things that were prohibited. So, by praying, we can train ourselves to stop doing any immorality and wrongdoings.
Fasting [Surah Al-Baqarah: 183]
From this ayat, I get to know that Allah SWT obligated us to fast during Ramadhan. And we should fast like the ummah before us which means ummah of the other Prophets before Muhammad SAW. Fasting is to abstain ourselves from all or some kinds of food or drink starting the sunrise until the sunset. Through fasting, we can increase our taqwa to Allah SWT. So that, all Muslim should fast during Ramadhan to increase their taqwa towards Allah SWT and to experience the difficulties of people who don’t get the chance to have enough food in their daily lives.
Zakat [Surah Al-Taubah: 103]
“Take, [O, Muhammad], from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase, and invoke [Allah 's blessings] upon them. Indeed, your invocations are reassurance for them. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.”
This Ayat told us about why we should pay zakat. From what I understand, Allah SWT asks us to pay zakat to clean and purify our wealth. It is because maybe there are some parts of our wealth that actually don’t belong to us but belong to other people. That is why we should pay zakat to make sure we don’t take others and to teach ourselves how to be a humble person. If we disobey this ayat, we may get the punishments from Allah SWT, indeed, Allah is The Richest and us just His servants in this Dunya.
Hajj [Surah Al-Baqarah: 197]
“Hajj is [during] well-known months, so whoever has made Hajj obligatory upon himself therein [by entering the state of ihram], there is [to be for him] no sexual relations and no disobedience and no disputing during Hajj. And whatever good you do - Allah knows it. And take provisions, but indeed, the best provision is fear of Allah. And fear Me, O you of understanding.”
What I understand from this ayah, Allah SWT obligated us as His servants to do Hajj in the month of Zulhijjah if they can afford to do it; afford in all aspects such as health, money, time, and many else. Hajj will teach us how to be a disciplined person in life. It is because there are so many rules for us to follow and obey before, during and after Hajj. During Hajj we should avoid from doing all the wrongdoings such us fight with each other, saying something bad, doing maksiat and so on. We should focus on how to increase our taqwa towards Allah SWT. But we must remember that if we aren’t from the group of people who can afford to do Hajj, please don’t trouble ourselves or feeling forced to do it since Allah SWT already said that it is only applicable to those who can afford. So, check our own selves, if we can afford it, it is best for us to do this Fifth Islamic Principle; Hajj.
- For our second assignment, we need to share our most favourite quote in the WhatsApp group, I love this sharing session very much because I gained much good life advice from this lovely session. So, here is my favourite quote that I shared with others:
- As for our third assignment, we must create a mind map about "How to Obtain Hidayah". We also were asked to share our experience about hidayah. Here is my work:
When I
was in secondary school, I changed a lot to become a better person. I am very
grateful for this opportunity to enter an Islamic secondary school. It is
because, before that, I did so many things that is wrong and I never knew that
it is wrong until I entered secondary school. My teachers and friends
taught me a lot about what is wrong and what is right to be practised in Islam
and I am really grateful for that. I improved myself a lot to become a better
Muslim when I studied in that school. I can’t imagine what I will be today if I
didn’t learn all of the Islamic teachings when I was in high school.
Alhamdulillah for this chance that Allah SWT has given me.
- Our last assignment is a group task, which we need to create a poster and my group was assigned with the topic of "Virtues in Sawm". So I make a poster about "The Reward of Fasting". Here is my poster:
